Halifax Hurricanes Ringette Hall of Fame Nominations!

 

Purpose

 

The purpose of the Hall of Fame Policy is to:

1.1 Recognize outstanding contributions to the development of the game of ringette and the Halifax Hurricanes Ringette Association (HHRA); and

1.2 Recognize outstanding achievements of builders, athletes and coaches.

 

Award Recognition

Hall of Fame Awards:

a) Hall of Fame awards in the category of Builder, Athlete, Coach will be presented at the Annual General Meeting of the Halifax Hurricanes. In any case where Hall of Fame inductions cannot take place as described, the HHRA Board reserves the right to make alternate arrangements

b) All Hall of Fame award recipients will receive a large framed certificate and an appropriate gift in recognition of their induction

c) Nominees shall be or have been involved in athlete recruitment, coaching, officiating, fundraising, sponsorship, hosting special events, association management and/or development of new programs and initiatives;

d) The HHRA Board shall have the right to determine eligibility for those individuals who made a significant contribution to the Halifax Hurricanes and may not meet the requirements above, upon the recommendation of the Committee.

 

. The Criteria for the Hall of Fame BUILDER Category:

a) Nominees shall have a minimum of three (3) years as a volunteer in the sport of ringette;

b) Nominees shall have made an outstanding contribution to the Halifax Hurricanes in one or more of the following categories:

Growth and development; Promotion; Coaching and/or officiating; or Administration.

c)  Nominees shall be or have been involved in athlete recruitment, coaching, officiating, fundraising, sponsorship, hosting special events, association management and/or development of new programs and initiatives; and

d) The HHRA Board shall have the right to determine eligibility for those individuals who made a significant contribution to the Halifax Hurricanes and may not meet the requirements above, upon the recommendation of the Committee.

 

The criteria for the Hall of Fame COACH Category:

a) Nominees shall have a minimum of three (3) years coaching experience;

b) Nominees shall have displayed excellent communication with, and respect for, other coaches, officials, athletes and parents;

c) Nominees shall have contributed to the growth and development of the ringette coaching program at the community level by serving as an instructor, mentor and/or committee member;

f) The HHRA Board shall have the right to determine eligibility for those individuals who made a significant contribution to Halifax Hurricanes and may not meet the requirements above, upon the recommendation of the Committee.

 

The criteria for the Hall of Fame ATHLETE Category:

a) Nominees shall have a minimum of five (5) years playing experience;

b) Nominees shall have exhibited the highest standards of teamwork, sportsmanship and fair play and displayed leadership qualities both on and off the ice;

c) The HHRA Board shall have the right to determine eligibility for those individuals who made a significant contribution to Halifax Hurricanes and may not meet the requirements above, upon the recommendation of the Committee.
